Last month, my coworkers and I spent two nights in Fort Worth, Texas. And wouldn't you know it, we stayed right around the corner from a museum called John Wayne: An American Legacy.
Nice article! I don't think I've watched any of Wayne's films (no, wait, I have seen True Grit) but I've watched very few Westerns outside of the spaghetti variety. I'll definitely put The Shootist on my list.
The Shootist would be a great watch after you've seen a few other Waynes for context. I would recommend starting with one like The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance since Stewart is in that one too!
The John Wayne Birthplace and Museum is in my wife’s hometown of Winterset. My father in law actually just got elected mayor of Winterset. Been to the museum a few times and it was fine.

I will do that!
I think John and I have debated Texas’ relationship to the South on multiple occasions.
Where would Alabama media be without debates like this!

Oh that's rad! I'm not surprised the museum is just okay, but good on Iowa for reminding folks that they can claim him.
