Sure, there are firefights in broad daylight, high-speed police chases, even an FBI sting at an active airport. But it’s the little details in Midnight Run that shook me to my bones.
Love this movie. Have always found it amusing that they made a bunch of sequels to a notably vulgar movie but made them for Television (Another Midnight Run, Midnight Runaround, Midnight Run for Your Life) starring Shooter McGavin haha
This was the time before the cigarette companies had their backs broken by the government over the health costs of smoking. While TV cigarette advertising was illegal, film studios still gladly accepted product placement deals.
One of the best movies. In your hypothetical legacyquel, who would be the Charles Grodin character??
Meaning like a stand-in for Grodin at what would be his current age? Steve Martin would do a hell of a job, I think.
This is exactly who came to mind for me as well. Or if Jim Carrey wanted to return to comedy, I'd be open to seeing that.
Ooh, Jim would be good too. But yeah, Steve would nail those smarmy facial expressions.
People should be allowed to smoke cigars everywhere though… those smell AMAZING.
Only when Tennessee wins that one football game, though.

What! I had no idea there were several made-for-TV sequels. I'm almost tempted to seek them out but I'm sure they're quite poor.

Oh yeah. The good ol' days! 😂
Oh yeah, they really perfected the buddy comedy in this one!
