Thanks in large part to my recent film festival excursions, I’ve actually seen 6.5 of this year’s Sidewalk Film Festival selections! Allow me to break them down and recommend them for you.
Thank you for checking out Starring Jerry As Himself about my father. It will be the most personal film I ever make. It's been an amazing journey from 2023 to now...We're premiering to select markets in theaters Nov 6th and will be hitting streaming also this Fall. I hope to rally as many supporters as possible to follow the IG and to spread the word!.
Jonathan! Man. Congrats on making an excellent film. Many of my friends caught it at Sidewalk and really dug it. I'll continue to spread the word as the film hits theaters and streaming! Hope you can make it to Birmingham for a future Sidewalk. 💙
Awesome. Sounds great. Also feel free to shoot me an email any time: ryan@thebalasbrothers.com . Hope to catch ya at the fest! Ill be with my brother. He is very tall. :) Say hi.
Oddity is pretty nice. I like how tight and compact the film is. And it really creates a sense of creeping dread that is punctuated with some rather nice jumpscares.

If you'll are looking for something a touch more etherial, I hope you will check out my film MIDWINTER at 4pm on Sunday.
I'd be there if I wasn't doing a panel at the exact same time. Congratulations on your world premiere, though! And welcome to Birmingham! 🙌
Thanks you! So excited to be there. I'd be happy to send you a screener if you are interested in watching at your leasure :)
Oh man, that would be great! I'll try to link up with you at the festival and then DM you if we don't cross paths.

Yeah, it's pretty spooky! It works within a more traditional horror formula, but it does the formula well. And the third-act payoff is great.
