In Lieu of This Week's Newsletter, I Ranked All of the V/H/S Segments
Hello, reader. I hope you’ve been enjoying Spooky Season as much as I have!
Truth be told, though, I haven’t had much time to enjoy seasonally appropriate movies this month because…I’m making a movie of my own! Here’s an article about it.
We started shooting on Monday, so I’ve been on set for several days now, which means I haven’t had time to write a newsletter for you this week. However! I do have some content for you, and it’s tangentially related, I think. (I created this newsletter, so I can break the rules whenever I want, nerd.)
For my comrades over at Modern Horrors, I ranked all of the segments of the V/H/S franchise! Even though these films were all released within the last decade, I think they really embody the spirit of the 80s/90s videotape aesthetic. If you’re looking for something scary to watch, I would recommend all of them, especially V/H/S/2 and V/H/S/94, but all of them have at least a couple really good segments to enjoy.
That’s all for today. I’ll be on set until we wrap in the wee after-midnight hours on Halloween, but I may have a surprise for y’all next Friday. Stay tuned!
The first three V/H/S films are all on Hoopla, Tubo, and Magnolia Selects (which absolutely nobody subscribes to, but I believe you can do a free trial on Amazon). And the latest V/H/S film is on Shudder, which you could also access through an Amazon trial!
