The VHS rental store generation needs its own Cinema Paradiso. What a great recollection!

Well damn, now I want to see that film. (Thanks pal!)

That was a nice trip down a very personal memory lane. And best of luck with the film!

Thanks so much, Gregory! Things are going great with the film so far. Almost halfway there!

"Like most 80s babies, I was transfixed by the horror section of the video store."

Late 70s baby, but close enough, and this really strikes a chord. Spent my childhood in our local version of the VHS rental store transfixed by the "WE ARE GOING TO EAT YOU" Zombie* posted prominently displayed there until I was old enough to watch it. No regrets.

*Yes, Zombi 2, I know, all praise due to Fulci.

Man, I love that the local video stores had no chill. Terrifying posters spread out all across the store to traumatize the kids. 😂

"Cujo was not a monster. He was a victim. He did not ask to be bitten by a rabid bat!"

He wasn't a monster any more so than any human person in the same situation. They rarely get "turned" out of their own free will.

(And I know how you feel about video stores. I had one in my neighborhood I felt the same way about.)

Exactly! He's obviously a threat to Dee Wallace and her boy, but it's a tragedy all around.

(I'm so thankful that I got to grow up in the neighborhood video store era, even if it was the tail end of it.)
